Rafael A. Toro Arsuaga is Of Counsel at the Firm supporting the Banking and Collections Practice Group and the Financing and Real Estate Practice Group. Mr. Toro is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he served as Class President for two years. He is admitted to practice before the State Bar of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and before United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Toro focuses his practice in the areas of collection proceedings, real estate transactions and contract negotiations. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Toro was a Senior Associate at Fiddler González and Rodríguez, P.S.C. where he handled real estate acquisitions, financing, leasing and project development. His professional experience also includes litigation and case management of foreclosure proceedings, environmental permit disputes and regulatory compliance. He served as law clerk for the Puerto Rico Supreme Court in the Central Investigation Panel analyzing certiorari cases before the Court.
While attending law school, Mr. Toro was a member of the Caño Martín Peña Pro Bono Group and he currently serves as the Member of the Board for CARAS de las Américas, a non-profit organization. Mr. Toro was a member of the Penn State University Varsity Golf Team (2002-2004) and a member of the Puerto Rico Junior and Amateur national golf teams. He is also a cycling enthusiast.
In 2015, Mr. Toro was ranked by Chambers & Partners Latin America as Up and Coming Individual.
